With the psn being down the entire weekend and then some the question as come up, should us ps3 users be compensated for the situation?

i think PSN+ members should get some sort of compensation, but otherwise it's a free service so i don't think playstation should have to lose more money to make up for the long wait

Thats correct indeed with the agreement (that we all accepted) of the PSN sony doesn't have to give us anything for being offline!!

SCEA assumes no liability for any inability to purchase, access, download or use any content, data or service


But that doesn't mean they won't give us anything!
Sony wants to bring the PSN online tommorrow! 26th op april!

But i will be happy with psn game allready got psn+

Like brutus said legally they don't have to compensate us for the PSN being down, but I'm sure they will give us a little something like a cheap free game out of the store or something small like that.

I want Sony to pay!

My 12 year old cousin could not enjoy Sony's - up until now - fine quality online services. Being about two hundred and eighty five pounds overweight, he could not do much in terms of actual physical activity. The only thing keeping that boy going was the world Sony had fashioned for himself and many other consumers like him: When he found out that Sony's services were down, that idyllic world he came to know and love was shattered around him. Having nothing to do and nowhere to go, he was forced to seek a means of entertainment out away from his safe and comfortable world..

However, as he was descending a flight of stairs (due to the elevator being broken) he ended up missing a step because his large protruding gut blocked his line of vision. This made him lose his footing and stumble down the aforementioned flight of stairs.. He hit the wall at the bottom of the stairwell with such a speed and with such a force that his body was instantly pushed back away from it, where he then continued to roll down six more flights of stairs.

..When they eventually found him, the medical examiner had said that he was sitting down in that stairwell for a good two and a half days. The only reason he was found was due to the stench his voided bowels and decomposing fatty flesh had been exuding in that over a hundred degree stairwell.

Oh yes, Sony will pay.. It's an outrage that I still can't get online!

lol schwarz. i think a month of ps+ would do fine along with some really good perks for the current ps+ subscribers. this will help to promote it as well.

I think that Sony as a whole needs to provide a service watching all our information that was possibly leaked due to the breach of security. There are millions of consumers that use PSN and have valuable information stored on their servers. At least SS# was not required to use the network, imagine what could be done with that info floating around with whomever breached the network.

Sony did not follow the 7 P's like they should have. I estimate that a group of individuals within Sony are all going to lose their jobs over this and rightfully so. Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance, instead I feel like they had too big of a head on themselves thinking it could never happen to us.

This holds true to any business, without acting on "A,B,C," and thinking about "D,E,F," most businesses are not setup thinking about the Future as much as they should be. Sony should have been at "X,Y,Z" and not have been put into this situation in the first place. Now as the consumers we suffer in more then a single way. Who knows if some joe has my CC info and is charging away on it. I believe I read something over the fact that Sony might pay for 2 years of credit reports for free. I think that is a good beginning, but still not enough.

Sony really shouldn't be held accountable. Look at what happened when WoW was down for a day. Crazy people DEMANDED a one day credit because of it. WTF. Do we really want to be held in such high esteem as WoW gamers? seriously no reason they should pay, shit happens and despite their dated security systems, they should only be held accountable for our credit card info which WAS stolen.
