Codemasters hasn't even got the first DiRT Showdown out of the door yet, but already there's talk about future iterations of the DiRT spin-off that could include more than just cars, with the possibility of various bikes and other vehicles mooted.

When asked about the introduction of two-wheeled racers to DiRT Showdown, Executive Producer Clive Moody told our good friends at Arabic Gamers that "bikes come up so often."

"It's a 'never say never thing'," he said. Although for now, Codies' racing expertise lie firmly in creating car racing games. "I have no doubt we have the talent within Codemasters to put together great handling and physics for a bike simulation. So maybe one day."

But what about other 'extreme' vehicles like quad bikes, monster trucks and err... boats? "Nothing is out of bounds, as I say, and err, I don't want to give too much away basically at the moment to say what we are and what we aren't doing, but yes, there are so many ideas floating around both within our studio and in Codemasters more widely," said Moody. "So I think you'll see some interesting stuff coming out over the next few years."

DiRT Showdown is out in Europe on May 24th and on May 29th in North America.
