Netflix who? The Ultimate Movie Machine!!!
For those who are big movie watchers like me and own a 360 or PS3(or both) here's a fun little tip for you. First I have to tell you that law states your allowed to have a digital copy of every movie that you physically own. So if you have Saw 3 on DVD/Blu Ray then your allowed one digital copy of that film. So this information I'm giving you is under the assumption that you already have a copy of the movies.....cough..... Great, now let's get started.
First thing you need is a Hard Drive. I'm a big fan of Western Digital which you can pick up at any Wal Mart. 1TB runs you less than a $100 but I went with a 2TB. You can use any HD but I've always stuck with WD. Now the newer WD's are not FAT32 formats anymore which blows. You have to have it in FAT32. So any HD you get convert it into FAT32 before proceeding to the next step!
Ok so we have a HD which is FAT32, great. Now hook that baby up to your computer and let's begin. Download Utorrent! Just google utorrent and it should pop up free. It's got the same layout as limewire almost.
Now let's decide on the right site. I use two different sites. Isohunt.com and Kickasstorrents(which is my new favorite site.) Isohunt has recently changed and now the new version is called Isohunt Lite, but I'm not a fan of the lite version so I use a proxy to piggy back off a different country so I can get around the US ban on the site. This proxy makes everything I do more private too.....just saying. http://anonymouse.org/cgi-bin/anon-www.cgi/http://isohunt.com
The great thing about both these sites is the fact that you can read comments left about the quality of the product. I'm a member of both sites so you'll see Heaton pop up here and there giving a rating on the films. Now find the movie ou want to watch by typing it into the search.
Check the different ratings for the film. Look for a copy rated 10/10 and then download torrent. The torrent will start downloading in utorrent. Once the film is finished downloading it will start seeding. Right click and stop seeding before you transfer it onto your HD.
Plug the HD into either the xbox or PS3. For the 360 just go straight to your media and start watching. Now for the PS3(my prefered choice even though I have both systems) you go to the video and scroll down to the HD symbol(WAIT!!!) Hit the Triangle button and then hit "Display All"
This is the main gist of things but there's a lot more you can do so just ask if you have any questions.
I'm up to 847 Movies/TV Seasons and thousands of songs
I better get a thanks or a + Vote if you guys find this useful! pK

Re: Netflix who? The Ultimate Movie Machine!!!
I still owed you a + for that site. Iso was the best until the changes but kickass seems to be getting everything sooner and the downloads are so much faster. Plus the quality seems a lot smoother as well.
By the way for everyone watching digital movies it's way better to have your TV set to movie mode. Movie modes a lot darker and when you switch from vivid/dynamic to movie mode your going to freak from the change but please trust me when I say give it a sec. You have to give your eyes time to adjust to the new screen and I swear it looks a lot better plus it's healthier for your television. If your in game mode then turn off game mode so you can switch settings.
Don't forget that the only stupid question is the one not asked. So if you have any questions about anything then ask away. Your amoung friends so don't feel like an idiot for asking something that sounds stupid in any of the forums.

Re: Netflix who? The Ultimate Movie Machine!!!
excellant post heaton, ive actually been doing the same thing with my ps3 and a portable hd for almost a year now, ive got a pretty good collection myself. i happen to use a program called vuze tho, it searches a number of sites, i think the count is 4 or sumthin. kickass is one of them, this program has never let me down and i tend to be able to find dvdrips 2-3 weeks before they are released in stores. if i have anything to add it would be to always take a look at the torrent info before downloading, this can save a lot of virus trouble at future dates. check out what ppl are saying about the torrent, and always check the actual file as well. other than that this is an amazing way to watch movies, i havent bought or rented a movie in the last year and i loooove it!!! so happy downloading and hats off to heaton for the awesome post!!

Thanks J-Hawn but be careful with the portable. I'm shocked it's lasted so long. Portables don't have built in fans so they burn out fast. I've seen a number of them fry so be sure to have a back up. I highly recommend a plug to the wall one if you guys go shopping for one anytime soon.

Also if you don't want to go the hard drive way you can also get movies on your ps3 (not xbox cause of the lack of a internet browser). All you have to do is go to stagevu.com and just look up the movie. Now this doesn't mean you can get movies early because stagevu will most of the time take down the early releases for copyright purposes but after they have been released they are fair game. And these download names are sort of encrypted so you have a less likely of a chance to get caught by your Isp.
Re: Netflix who? The Ultimate Movie Machine!!!
For those who want to watch movies in a room with no game system or don't have a PS3/360(which would be kinda wierd since your on a gaming website) there's other means to use a HD. WD also sales a digital reader box for about $100 which will play all the movies. Also LG/Samsung's tv's(some, not all) have a USB port on the side that will play the movie by hooking the HD straight into the tv. And last but not least Samsung Blu Ray players(Newer Versions) also play movies from the HD. My parents use the Blu Ray player. Note that some movies will play on one device but not the other. This is rare but I have seen a movie work on the 360 but not the PS3 or vice versa.

I have a few sites with posts on it.
dl it to external HDD hook it up to ps3 and then i can watch it
but i make a copy of every movie i download

That way i can watch all my wrestling stuff too RAW/NXT/SMACKDOWN/PPV
we don't have it here on television

Explain Newsgroup a little more! I've never heard of them. I never watch tv so I saw no reason to get cable just internet but it'd be awesome to still be able to watch WWE.
